TTC

$400.00

TTC is a six-layer screen print built from photographs and abstract color planes. Three of those layers reference key elements of Toronto’s urban fabric—streets, skyscrapers, and the TTC subway—while a light purple screen subtly maps the city’s streetcar rails. At the center, looped yellow hand-straps from inside a subway wagon cut across the architectural forms and unify the composition.

The layered planes echo how we navigate the city: rails underfoot, handles at hand, and skyscrapers overhead. The subway straps act as a visual hinge, binding these separate elements into one cohesive image—just as the TTC physically links distinct neighborhoods across Toronto.

Public transit is more than a way to get from A to B—it’s a shared environment where strangers occupy the same small space day after day. In an age of rapid change, these routine encounters remind us that connection—however ordinary—is an intrinsic part of a city’s identity.
